Is he your favorite director. Personally, I donāt think anyone compares to Stanley Kubrick [CLockwork Orange, 2001 space odessey etc] from his first movie in 1957 to Sparticus, which ended blacklisting in Hollywood, because he simply gave everyone credit.

Sayles is high up among my favorite directors. The Coen brothers immediately come to mind as well, and, definitely, Kubrick is in there.
I have not seen Monsieur Ibrahim, but amazingly it was (maybe still is) playing at an āart theaterā close to me in suburban New Jersey. Do you recommend it?
