Hi folks.

I had the privilege last weekend to attend the wedding ceremony of = Jacquie
Dillard and John Foss. It was more like an event! Held in a = restored
vaudeville theater in downtown Sacramento, guests were = entertained by song, by
Elvis (he IS alive–I’ve seen him myself), and = by what USA members would call
a ‘public show’. =20

Their vows were spoken while standing onstage (not from atop a = unicycle), but
there was a strong one-wheel presence throughout the = wedding day. Highlights
included Greg Milstein (John’s friend from the = Circus Project days, who’s a
professional baloon artist and Master of = Ceremonies–and of course, a
unicyclist), a 10-minute “MUni Mayhem” show = featuring Bruce Bundy, Brett
Bymaster, Nathan and Beau Hoover, Geoff = Farraghan, Tim Bustos, and others. The
mountain men (and boy) were = hopping up steps and riding down them, and even
riding off the 3-foot = stage. You’re not likely to see that at most weddings!
Even John = himself performed onstage for about 20 minutes. A former world
champion = unicyclist, he hasn’t lost his touch.

I got to ride John’s 48-inch unicycle built by Tommi Miller at The = Unicycle
Factory. I thought it would be an easy transition since I ride = the 36-inch
Coker so much, but I spent 10 minutes just trying to get on = the thing! It was
a blast, and it was great to finally see John’s = unicycle collection.

Thanks to John and Jacquie for being delightful hosts, and for making = their
wedding such a moving and memorable event. =20

-John
