Introducing Magical Mark Watson

I’m training to crankflip over a live cat.

LOL! No Way!

You Have To Get A Video Of That!

Does it have to still be alive at the end? And how many cats have you gone through so far?

Literally?

Quite a lot in my mind, but none in real world.

I’m gonna learn to rolling hop over it first, the next step is crankflip. And yes, ideally the cat must emerge completely unharmed.

Aye welcome to the forums!
I can only juggle… basic juggling that is… but I do firestaff! Maybe you could add “that” to your list of talents in the future aswell :D.

Hi there,

CircusPassion - I have considered trying staff, and eventually fire staff, but am not too sure where to start. Any help and advice on that would be useful, possibly over msn? I’ll add you, but if you don’t want to chat just reject it.

Maybe we could exchange ideas? I have a fair bit of experience with juggling and the like, but maybe you could teach me a thing or two on the unicycle and with staff spinning.

Thanks, once again, to all of those who have welcomed me so heartily to the forums!

Many thanks

Mark Watson

In what way does being a Christian magician separate you from “normal” magicians?

Hi there,

Good question Triball!

Basically, as a Christian magician, I perform at children’s parties and other events to earn a little money part-time. This is a regular sub-standard magic show that most magicians perform! LOL!

However, I also perform partially for my church, presenting different aspects of Christianity using my magic tricks. This is really where the idea of Christian Magician (aka Gospel Magician) comes from, and it is an important part of my youthwork within church.

Hope this has helped to clear things up for you!

Many thanks

Mark Watson

I thought it might be like that. Could you, please, describe a trick which presents christianity? Not the secret of it, but what it looks like:)

Hi there,

Sure, it would be my pleasure!

One very common illustration, used by many Christian Magicians, is to display a dirty, torn handkerchief. This symbolises the sinful lives we live before coming to know God.

The magician makes a fist and pushes in the dirty handkerchief. He opens his hand to reveal it is empty, and the handkerchief is gone.

The magician makes another fist and from this he produces a nice, white, clean handkerchief. This shows how, through Jesus, our sins can be forgiven and we are washed clean in the eyes of God.

This is a very simple illustration, and with the right patter gets a very important message across!

If you want to talk some more about Christian Magic and what I do, please don’t hesitate to PM me, or contact me on MSN.

Hope this has helped answer your query!

Take care

Mark Watson

Wow! You can wipe our sins off the handkerchief!!!

Can you turn this water into wine? This oregano into marijuana?

Hi there,

LOL!

You must always remember, as I tell my audiences at every performance, that what I do is simply a trick. It is a skill that has taken time and practice, but it is just a trick - nothing more.

I cannot really remove your sins or turn water into wine, but I can give an illustration so people understand what Jesus did. Jesus is the only one who can save you, I’m just helping people realise that!

Hope this helps clear things up!

Many thanks

Mark Watson

So, do you heal the sick, walk on water and cast out demons?

Also, do you get crucified in the end? Do they use fake blood and plastic nails?

Do you hang out with people that dress like beggars and prostitutes(but really are members of your church impersonating other biblical characters)?

Would you perform for an audience which would be too young/stupid to make a distinction between Jesus and pretend Jesus, even if you told them? If yes, wouldn’t it be abuse of power and hypocrisy?

How do you sleep at night?

How do you sleep at night, crushing everyone’s spirit and religion:o

Hi there,

Triball - which one of us were you referring to in your last post? Me or Ivan?

Many thanks

Mark Watson

i was talking to ivan

Oooh! Can I answer this one? The answer is no. He doesn’t. He simply performs with a Christian message. Would you also treat Dustin Kelm with this level of sarcasm? What’s the problem? Mark was introducing himself and telling us about what’s important in his life. Why the hostility?

Mark – for some reason, we love to debate religion. There have been many threads about religion and a few, shall we say, incidents (like the many “unicycle for Christ” threads in RSU*). Most of the time, it’s friendly debate (not derision) and it’s confined to the religion threads.

    • RSU is the abbreviation for Rec.Sport.Unicycling, the main forum, where non-unicycling-related threads are off-topic and unwelcome

OOOooo ooOOoooOO!!

The Atheist jumping in to protect the poor Christian from the lions!!!

OOooOOoOOoOO!!!

Watch out, Mark. Dave is trying to steal your soul!

I was only joking, Mark. I love you. Please forgive me.

Looks like my brilliant humour was stolen by terrorists.
