Anyone know how to treat an ingrown toenail?
I warked as a mason this summer and dropped a large rock on my big toe. Shattered 2/3 off it, which fell off soon after. Its at the point where I cant bear to tighten climbing shoes anymore, so something needs to be done.
Never attempt to remove the ingrown toenail yourself. Always seek professional medical help.
Avoid putting pressure on the nail by wearing comfortable shoes or by placing cotton between the surrounding toes.
Soak the infected toe two to three times a day in warm Epsom salt, betadine (IODINE SOAP) or a mild soap.
Keep the toe clean and dry. Only wear a Band-Aid if the nail is draining blood or pus.
Use a topical antibacterial ointment such as Neosporin.
A simple surgical procedure will be required to remove the infected portion of the nail, which can be performed by a Podiatrist (Foot Doctor) or your health care provider.
I had my Ingrown Toenail remove by the Doctor at the Hospital.
What really happen to me, Back in September 1980 I was removing a very old set of Concrete Laundry Tubs and it fell on my toe. Later spreading to my other toe too. In 1984 I had to go to hospital to remove my ingrown toenail because it was too painful to walk on and even doing kicking games like soccer.
I had two toenails remove. One in 1984 and the other one in 1986. Both of those are my Big Toe’s. Very painful indeed. I have now just to cut 8 toenails instead of 10. I’ll try to get a photo of it if I can.

Just cut the whole thing off. You don’t need ALL ten of your toes, I mean come on! TEN TOES!! You can spare losing just one. I only have 3 toes and I’m doing just fine, geez, be a man about it. 
Three toes between the two feet? I’m impressed! That has got to take great skill to lose seven toes. 
Re: ingrown toenail
if u catch it early enough, u can simply use the edge off your nail clippers to clip a small ‘V’ in the middle of front of the toe nail
this causes the edges to grow toward the middle as the nail attempts to ‘fix’ the problem
if it’s allready quite a mess, get to a doc
