I think hopping is mainly go out and ride alot
I have been riding for about 5 months but have not been out much atall over the last month because I am now taking my GCSE exams. after 4 months I could jump 25" watch my video that I made after 4 months.
But as Im not one to show off so just ignore this post ![]()
i still have trouble jumping up on the curb…
i maybie work on jumps like 10minutes a month though lol
I’m stuck at 30-40cm. Can’t go higher. I would say it’s because I don’t practice enough, but I think I didn’t learn the whole process right. It just doesn’t want to go higher ![]()
get stucked between 50-60cm 3months ago
now my top is 90cm
and i freqeuntly get 86cm
thats not bad, make sure you pre hop
I always prehop:)
I saw the movie posted somewhere here, and got all hyped up. Can’t wait till tomorrow
Static to rubber I am getting around 28-30 inches. (71-76cm)
Rolling I am getting 32". (81cm)
Pedal grab I can get to 42" (106cm)
What do you think is a more important part of high jump : height (yours), or technique ?
Because if you look at Xav Collos, he can hop something like 1m03 (Rolling), and he’s pretty short…
I’ve done 83 cm (32.68 inches) onto a ledge (this was a couple of months ago), and 77 cm (30.31 inches) over the bar (last week (so I could probably do more onto something now)).

most on technique, when I have hopping flukes I feel I use less power and get higher.
on saturday I did 82cm to rubber ![]()
what do you say if you have nylon tyre though? ![]()
???
Technique.
When I do a prehop wrong I find myself having to tuck the tire way under me to reach an object. When I prehop correctly and really give it that perfect bounce, I find myself easily getting onto things and barely tucking my tire at all.
I need 2 practice getting my prehop right, it normly takes a while. Is there any general rule for were you should start and were your prehop should land before you do your hop?
I was about to wow that
Nylon tyre?
“…to nylon” Nobody will understand, but so what?
meh, you could also have rubber pedals
Probs just best to say to tyre in the end.
For me, I am about a 1.5’ away from the object when I prehop. My prehop usually takes me a foot away from an object and thats enough room for me to get my height, and not clip my foot or anything else on they way up.
Just practice and get comfortable with it. You find what is too far away, and what is too close, then you find what is right.
