I am new and I got a couple questions

okay I am new to this forum, and somewhat new to unicycling right now I have the torker Dx I duno what year it is but it isn’t the new one, I got it from a friend and I am contemplating on getting the Qu-Ax 20-inch that goes for about $300 and I was wondering if that is good?

and what other websites sell unicycles other then unicycle.com?

Thanks in advance!

Darren Bedford of Bedford Unicycles has outstanding deals. He sells out of Toronto and shipping is reasonable… You can call him on the phone or e-mail him and he can guide you to what you want at a fair price without any pushy saleman BS. He is a straightup guy and sells good stuff.

I’m sorry I have no experience with the Qu-Ax 20 inch.

oh and one more question what other website other then that bedford one seels like uni videos and all that stuff please
thanks again

hey mate, i have the kh trials, but i was gonna get the qu-ax20" but it was out of stock at the time. But i have only heard good things about it, and i hear it is very strong, the only down part about it is the weight.

im an aussie, but i have heard that there is a good online site to buy uni’s and products from www.municycle.com they also have an aussie site, which is also good!

The Qu-ax is a high quality unicycle made in Germany. I thought about getting one myself for a long time (Now I have a Coker deluxe thats worth more than my car). If you’re new to unicycling, I wouldn’t get the Qu-ax yet. Your Torker DX is a fine unicycle (probably from 2004 or December 2003). This is just me, but I don’t think you should drop $300 on a unicycle that isn’t much of an upgrade from the one you’re riding now.

On the other hand, if the one you’re riding now is more of a loaner until you get your own, then there are other factors to consider. The Qu-ax is great, but so are a bunch of others, it all depends on what you’re going to use it for.
If you’re looking at extreme unicycling, grinding ledges and doing some serious drops, then, yeah, a Trials cycle is what you’ll want. (and if you’re serious about it, get a good one. Personally, I like Onza for trials, but you MUST either get leg armor with it, or change out the pedals before you get fillayed)

If you want to ride down a steep trail in the woods, barely keeping your head from being stripped from your torso, then get a Muni, which usually cost about $100 more. The 2006 Torker DX 24" is real nice, and it won’t completely smash your piggy bank.

If you’re still learning to ride, or are sticking to the roads, or learning the harder, more technical tricks of freestyle, then you have a lot of good options. Semcycle is famous for quality, and Miyatas are close to perfect (although I didn’t see them on Unicycle.com. What gives?). I’ve been dissapointed by my Nimbus II, but it’s held up to a lot. Hell, the new Torker LX 20" is a much better freestyle unicycle than most people give it credit for.

So, to answer your question, yes, the Qu-ax is a good unicycle, but it’s probably not the best unicycle for you at this point.

Unicycle.com sells all of the videos. Dan Heaton of SYKO Productions markets his own stuff and distributes through the other online stores. I don’t know if Brian MacKenzie directly sells his Training Wheel Not Required DVD through the London Unicycling Club or if he distributes it only through dealers.

okay I guess that I should mention I have been unicycling for about 5-6 months, and I can ride one footed for as long as I want, I can ride backwards and I can grind and jump decently high and I have been off roading once with my friend but we usually do like strret unicycling consisting of like stair sets and rails and ledges and all that jazz so the Qu-Ax is a good one from what I heard, and this one that I have now isn’t a loner but it is pretty jacked up
thanks for everyones replies!

okay I spoke with my friend, and I guess what I really want is a bigger tire, so do you guys think that if I put a new rim in my torker dx and a 2.5 wheel will it fit good enough? and not cause any problems?!!
