A) 33
B) 20 hrs in one week to freemount and ride 50+m. I practiced in the basement untill I could freemount. Then I went riding outside.
C) male.
I learned on a 20" and ordered a 24" the second day I was riding outside. I am restraining my self and not ordering a Coker until I earn my ASA designation.:frowning:

age: 38 yrs young

time: 23hrs over 1.5 months

gender: male

the best 23 hrs i’ve ever spent!!!

I was about 11 yrs old. I practiced everyday for about two weeks. Once I could ride about 10 feet I just kept going. I taught myself by sitting on the uni with my right foot on the rear pedal with the wheel against a brick wall applying a little pressure to keep me on the wall. I would slowly push off and start pedaling with my left foot.
I am 45 now (male) and ride a 24" Torker.

Thanks. Can you make an estimate as to the number of hours practiced, per day or in total in these two weeks?

Klaas Bil

Klass- I must have spent at least two hours a day for two weeks. But back then (30+ years ago) the uni’s were very different. My first one was a 16" with plastic hubs, no spokes. It was incredibly hard to learn to ride. After I mastered it and got a better one, I was amazed at how easy it was to ride. It was almost effortless. I’m sure if I learned on a good unicycle, then my learning time would have been substantially shorter. I plan on getting my 7 year old son a 16" Torker for his 8th b-day. Hopefully his learning time will be shorter than mine.
Hope this info helps

Thanks all for contributing. I’ll be offline for almost a week as of
tomorrow. I welcome any additional (or supplemental) entries in the
meantime. In addition to A, B and C you may want to state wheelsize
learned on, calender time used to learn, and what sort of instruction
you had. Plus optionally whatever you think is relevant.

I plan to post results around mid April.

I will repeat one of my posts to include the wheel size. Sorry for the extra verbage, I thought it easier for you to sort out that way.

First of all, I learned on a 20" wheel. Now the past post with the wheel sizes added.
