Haha ok, it’s on. 110wpm was my peak for the race one. The racing site is kind of laggy and if you make a mistake it will cost you because it lags when you try to hit backspace. It teaches you not to make mistakes for sure.
I peaked at 120wpm gross and net on the “Test Instructions” one for typingtest.com.
i haven’t typed properly in forever, and it’s 5.30am in the morning and my hands are a little cold… but still i got 100% at 81wpm on the astronaut one (fug all th – and " etc), then 97wpm (99gross) at 97% on the test instructions.
I forgot to mention that 108 wpm is what turned out the final result on type racer but at one stage was typing at 117 wpm but I ended up with 10 wpm at the end.
What is the gross speed again? average or highest speed?
EDIT: Anyway I’m going on typeracer now hopefully I will be able to beat 108 wpm =]
With all of the time spent on the computer, I can type pretty good. Back in elementary school I managed a personal best of 88 WPM. I can probably crank out 80-90 words per minute in English, and in my native language, I can type much faster.
I’m at about 80wpm, but I’ve been getting faster in the last few months because my job consists mostly of taking transcription (I was closer to 60wpm before I started).
I’m still trailing in the lower ranges of wpm, but higher in accuracy.
I did want to say thanx for starting this thread.
It’s made me redecide to finally learn to touch type.
As we all know, it’s difficult to teach an old bulldog new tricks (and apparantly I am, indeed, OLD), but I’m giving it a good go.
Yeah just lots of practice. Everyone in our class at school loved touch typing so much that they would go on it at lunch times and whenever they could, trying to beat the top person in the class.
