I thought I would share some photos of my Design and Technology project from a few months ago as the title says it is a unicycle training wheel. I thought this design might work because I figure everybody who wants to learn to ride a unicycle can ride a regular bike. By adding this attachment to the unicycle they would get the feel of riding a unicycle and the familiar feel of the handlebars and the extra wheel. I tested it on a few friends and come to the conclusion it that it would be quicker to learn the old fashion way but it ended up being a lot of fun for people who can already ride.
I made the attachment from the front half of a big wheeled scooter and the two cross bar things from a old pink mountain bike and a bit of pipe for the frame clamp. I had most of the materials sitting under the house so all I had to by where the nuts and bolts.
I’ve seen a few different designs out there and wondering if anyone else has had a go at making one and if it was a success or not?
Have you seen a Super Trick Cycle? If not then you’ve spookily built one without knowing they exist
I think they rotate at the rear joint as well (where you’ve got the clamp), making them even weirder.
You should get some BMX pegs on the front wheel and do some sick riding If I have the materials to do that I will defenitly make one!
I think you should make an upgrade on the front wheel and get a 20" wheel on there too
I have two old BMXs laying around that no one uses, so I think I will make it out of one of them. I also have some pegs that I definitely will add to it!
