homemade brake

is there anyway to make a bicycle brake fit or get some sort of brake that is cheaper than £50?
its to fit a 26er

I’m probably going to give it a try at some point. From what I’ve read using some v brakes with longer arms meant for clearing fenders seems to work better.

I did a real quick and dirty brake on my first uni. The brake was off of a wal-mart mountain bike and I drilled one hole through the seatpost tube to mount it.

The handle was mounted by the saddle handle screws. Total cost of $0 because all parts were scavenged.
