Hawaii MUni adventure on European Television

Re: Re: Hawaii MUni adventure on European Television

I just saw the first section of Rekordfieber with some nice unicyling shots and this question goes to Kris, how’s the weather in Hawaii?

Sorry can’t get to that one Danny.

Cheers, Gary

OMG! I am looking it right now…
I’ll see u soon Kris…
And ur downroad Municycling path was very very cool and stylish!
Omg, u ownz, Kris

Hello Kris!
I have seen it also right now. That was very very cool!
I am happy that you are still alive after this cruel bridge

Greetz, fossy

yes, i watched the second part right now…
And… OMG… i have no words for this…
Really dangerous and freaked!

But why didnt u save u with any rope or s.th.?
I thought that could be better… But u r alive ;).

Re: Hawaii MUni adventure on European Television

I’ve just seen the two segments with Kris and it was awesome! The
downhill MUni ride was just so freaking technical and energetic. The
ride on the bridge railing (55 m high) seemed more daring than
difficult.

I’ve taped the whole show and will show the uni parts tomorrow to my
unicycling daughters, see what they have to say.

Way to go Kris and I’m glad you dropped of the right (umm that was the
left) side of that railing

“No matter where you go, there you are.”

<please> somebody post the vid online for us aussies </please>

Agreed. Just do what I do and take a video with a camera pointing at your TV screen if nothing else works. You guys are so lucky, having muni documentaries on TV and heaps of fellow unicyclists nearby.

Andrew

ARRRGH! I missed it!! :frowning:

I thought the MUni record wasn’t on yet.

I hope I didn’t convince anyone but myself by posting earlier.

Don’t ever listen to me, I don’t know what I am talking about!

I’m afraid even that doesn’t work in my case. I have no video camera,
just a digital camera that can take 15 fps vids. In 640 x 480 it’s
about 1 MB per second, or 900 MB for the two segments combined. No way
I’m not gonna put that up through my dial-up connection.

This was the first ever time I saw MUni on TV. The folks in the US
seem to have a lot more.

Almost.

I taped it just in case Kris was right and you (and the ARD website
for that matter) weren’t.
But only the reports in this thread from people having seen it made me
review the tape. And sure enough there it was.

It was nice to see some Muni on TV even if it was in German and my German (Like Kris’s  ) is crap but I could just here what he was saying in English despite the over dubbed interpreter. None of that distracted from the great footage shot by Sean (I must say he is good and complements Kris’s riding ability, watch ‘Into The Thunder Dragon’ to see more). In all about 12 minutes of great unicycling action.

BTW Kris, how many times did you jump of the railing on the bridge for that LIVE shot

And did anyone see the one-handed handstand race? That old guy was damn fit; did they say how old he was?

Cheers, Gary

Damn fit he was indeed. He said he was 56 years old.

Klaas Bil

I guess I was referring to the Americans, Canadians, and Germans without mentioning it.

How about just some screen shots or something?

Andrew

Yes, someone needs to send Phil a copy of the tape so he can convert it to a nice DivX video. We’re counting on you Phil.
