haha, shaping up well
remember your deposits… :sunglasses:

WooHoo!

T.

Hey guys,
places are filling up, but we still have some space left - its not too late to reg!!

Anyone else fancy coming? I can guarantee it will be a GREAT weekend!

Joe,

Is this fully booked yet? Anyone else coming?
The polo is looking sketchy, Kit. So we maybe relegated to the Metro, which will be faster but will give us all headaches!

Sorry Edward but I’m afraid I’mgoing to have to back out on this one. Funds are a bit tight with Unicon to pay for and shtuff…

Can barely afford doritos and pornography for myself let alone anyone else.

At the last count there was a couple of places left but only a few. So if you are interested in coming do give me or Connie a call at work. 0800 980 0711

A froggy at the Hamfest

Hi there !

Finally I would be able to come. I’ll have my monday off. I am very glad to meet a part of the British Uni Community.

Before I rent a car at Newcastle, perhaps someone can pick me up at the airport friday at 19:35 ? Idem for the way back. I’ll flight the monday at 15:50.
Any idea for a nice BB the sunday night at Newcastle ? If not I think car rental is the only option, isn’t it ?

Thank you for your help

Zippedy

PS Roger : Did you receive the cheque from the Brit family ? (Stapleton or Morgan) I’m not certain who send it

Good to have you on board Zippedy. Cheque arrived ok thanks.

We are doing a little shuffling of numbers so we have made a few more places available… We are also looking a what food people are wanting.

Roger

Zippedy!

Welcome!

I am from Glasgow, and will be driving down to the event after work on friday. I will be leaving at 5pm. According to Google Earth it takes 2 hours 45 minutes to get to newcastle airport from Glasgow. So I could be there for 7:45PM. It will depend on the traffic though.

I’ll be around on the sunday night, as I also have monday off work. I do not have a place to stay nearby, but I could give you a lift back to the airport if you like.

I’m happy to help you if I can.

What kind of unicycle will you be bringing with you?

T.

Thank you for your help Tom.

I’ll take a 24" in its own bag + my bag or evething in one “big” suitcase.

I mean a human sized suitcase not a huge trunk

Zippedy

No worries, man.

I’m sure I’ll fit you in.

Have you got an email? PM it to me if you could.

HamFest is only 6 days away!

If anyone is interested, there are still a few places left. It will be a great weekend, come rain or shine - its MUNI!!

Joe,

Edd

oh yes, its only next weekend

Im sure you’ll get there some how, even if it means riding :sunglasses:

Joe,

…bump

This update has some new and some repeated information. Please carefully read it all, and send me your questions if I’ve missed something! Two important things: bring your sleeping bags and food is provided for most of the weekend.

Location:
Hamsterley Forest is a Forestry Commission Forest with 2000 hectares of mixed woodland lying between the Wear and Tees valleys on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Riding:
The forest boast some of the best riding in the region with a mixture of gentle trails and exciting single track which will stretch the best of Muni riders. There is also an MTB training loop which is VERY entertaining.

Walking or Long-Distance Unicycling:
There are some great trails for walking - from easy 1 mile loops up to challenging 5 miles routes that take you past waterfalls and up and down the hills. Riders into long-distance unicycling will enjoy the 9 or 14-mile route. The walking trails are suitable for easy unicycling, as long as we take care to respect the other walkers on the path. There are also children’s play areas (maybe nice for some Trials moves after hours??).

How to get there:
View the map (Multimap)
Local Weather Forecast (Multimap)
Post Code: DL13 3NL

Turn right in Hamsterley village following the brown tourist signs, turn left in hamlet of Bedburn to enter the forest and access the forest drive (£3 fee is charged at entry). The visitor centre is located at the bottom of the hill on the right.

Cars are charged £3 each per day.

Accommodation:
Hamsterley Forest Outdoor Centre. Accommodation is in five dormitories, together providing thirty beds. There are male and female toilets/washrooms, and the centre (which is single storey). There is full gas central heating making the centre warm and comfortable all the year round. The large kitchen is fully equipped, and there is also a washing machine and tumble drier. You will need to bring your own bedding (including pillow case) or sleeping bags. Bring your own towel as well!

Events:
Multiple Muni rides for all abilities (short double or single tracks… of varying roughness), Night ride, Barbecue, Muni games, fancy dress competition (Joe wanted this!)

Times:
The centre opens at 6:00pm on Friday and has to be cleared by Sunday at 4:00pm

Ride Times:
Friday night ride (bring lights!): 9pm
Saturday MUni or distance ride: 10am departure
Saturday Trials playing: 4pm
Saturday night ride: 9pm
Sunday MUni or distance ride: 10am departure

Cost:
£30 for 2 nights stay and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. We will provide fuel for the large Barbecue on the Saturday night but bring your own food.

Food (Updated):
We have enough participants that we are providing a pasta dinner for Friday evening (both vegetarian and meat sauce), breakfasts both Saturday and Sunday, lunch (sandwiches) for Saturday and Sunday. Coffee, tea, and some juice also provided. Please bring your own food to barbecue for Saturday. Also bring any other beverages and snacks you wish to have during the weekend. There is a tea room onsite, but it is only open limited times.

How to register (there are a few spots left - if you know someone who is still interested, have them contact me quickly):
As there are so few beds available it will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. £10 deposit to secure your place.

Cant wait!! may start pakcing tonight :stuck_out_tongue:

Joe,

Great ! (Zippedy powered by tofu) :sunglasses:

Nothing against Pastis, I hope ? Don’t worry I’ll provide peanuts within. As long as you supply iced water I’ll be perfect for un p’tit apéro

Cant wait!! may start drinking one on my own tonight :stuck_out_tongue:

Zippedy

great Zippedy!, the whole group of “Froggies On One Wheel” is with you! Please do behave!
P.S: don’t let the brits drink too much of your stuff (they evolved in a remote island and so have different genes  ).

Great weekend!

Im sure there will be some photos to follow!

Thanks to everyone who came, I had a great weekend!
