"Godfather of soul", James Brown dies at 73!

I was sorry to hear about this.

yes sorry, the radio kept talking about a show he made in France in 1966 … I was there and remember “a man’s man’s world” (chiver down my spine) …
part one was with Sam and Dave where are they now?

Aye, the planet is just a bit lighter now.

What a weird day to die, as in christmas day. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

R.I.P James Brown

I remember watching James Brown support the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in Hyde Park, London a few years ago and thinking “That man has more energy than all of the Chillies combined.”
I’ll probably best remember his cameo in the Blues Brothers though.

Wow. 73. Now that I’m over 50 that seems so young.:frowning:

He was indeed a bundle of energy. Often thought he had an internal nuclear reactor.

ya sorry to hear that…
I love his song: I feeel good…

I just came across this pic today.

Thought it was plenty touching.

When I saw this yesterday, I was afraid he died AGAIN!!!

And I thought: Oh no, that poor man! Does he deserve this?!

Some might consider it only fair punishment for the endless repeats of the ‘cape routine’, no?
