Have you seen the Ride your age thread? That will get get you motivated.
It doesn’t specify the units, so if you’re feeling lazy on your birthday, you can ride 60 feet and call it good.

My goals are
It’s that time of year again…
That would be fun to see who achieved what in that thread!
If at first you dont succeed…
Sure thing. I originally posted my ambition to ride 150 miles in a day having done the ‘100’ the previous year. I failed and had to accept 100 miles again. I still have to write the report.
For 2014 I want to attempt a twice-my-age-in-a-day ride, that will give me 130 miles.
I made decent progress on these but got distracted with other goals in June. For 2014 my goals are:
Why stop at 76 when you can go to 136.8?
I had a pretty good unicycling year. No back problems; no knee problems; rode most days and was happy
I could use the same list every year. But this time I have some more specific goals:
Custom dropouts and easier starts.
I checked other posts to see if they were relevant but can only link your comment to my earlier post. The only thing that made sense to me is the question mark at the end. So that’s why I am replying.
I tried using my calculator on your figures but couldn’t understand any of it. I expect there is a sense of humour that I cant fully grasp
I am dyslexic, please explain
I am not one of the parties involved, but my reading is that it referred to one of waaalrus’ enumerated goals. Multiply wheel diameter by gear ratio.
I’m not, and I don’t understand it either
This is it. 3.8 x 20" = 76 gear inches but 3.8 x 36" = 136.8 gear inches. Kiefer is jokingly urging me to make a ridiculously highly geared big wheel while a ridiculously highly geared 20" is already sufficiently impractical.
Haha Hilarious! I often get myself into similar misinterpretations. I ‘saw’ figures that (I thought) were similar to those in my post. Often I have to have things spelt out to me word by word as you have done
Impractical? What are you talking about? You could set a new land speed record for a unicycle with that monster! :roll eyes:
Have a Happy New Year!
Stay out of the hospital!
Scott
I reckon we’re near enough the end of the year to know whether I’m going to make these or not. A somewhat disappointing total…
Though nice to see I’ve managed one of my aspirational ones and fairly close to a couple of others I’m sure (I’m certainly ready to have a go at rolling hopping some steps). I can also add one I hadn’t even dreamed of - juggle whilst riding - as I hadn’t expected to learn to juggle.
Hmm, here’s what I posted
