So here it is

I had a great w/end in Durham at the BJC, drove up on thursday arriving to find
a posse of dedicated uniers in one corner of the hall aready. Roger had LOTS of
toys with him and let every one play with them so during the weekend it was
possible to try wheel sizes from 8 to 36 inches or even smaller if you count the
sem cycle mini bikes which were around. Miark had a sort of BC wheel in his
collection,Leo bought his custom built 700c with brake, sus seat post and toe
clips, lots of other people had one or two unis with them for hockey, muni and
playing around.

Hockey happened at dusk not by design , just coz we didn’t get round to it
earlier, lots of new players lots of youngsters, leo playing on a coker! fast
but not to good at stopping in a hurry.

A chelih in the evening saw Paul, Roger and I dancing on one wheel with the
best of the two footed, 4 hand star, thread the needle, promenade your
partner all acomplished with style and panash, dosi doe was harder but we got
there in the end.

That was Thursday more or less, you will have to imagine the beer, chat and the
appearence of the British Unicycle Semaphore display team on the renagade stage.

If some one else wishes to write up the rest, feel free, other wise I’ll carry
on in a day or two. Or if you want me shut up I can do that to. sarah

There’s more… you forgot to mention the high speed testing to the Coker at
4.00am in the morning of the last night in the main hall by Miark,me and Michel.
It is amazing how fast 16.9mph feels like in a hall that size, especially when
there was still quite a few jugglers and kit about. Yep and the hockey was
superb! Also the dancing to the band on the saturday night, absolutely manic, I
don’t know how my hub is not broken. There was also the filming of the Muni ride
by Yorkshire TV who are doing a feature for a children’s program sometime in
June. I will post the info when I get the exact details. It was great fun trying
to get 30 Muni riders to do as they were told. At one point they tried to get us
all to dive off the track and ride through the woods. The first time I travelled
5 meters and found a 2’ deep mud hole and face planted, second time I decided to
get lots of air and landed in a hole that rocketed me off and the third I again
got even more air and hit a tree… there is likely to be a lot of me falling
over and giggling in this film. The guy playing the guitar on a 10’ giraffe in
the renegade on that tarpaulin floor, wow. Yes is was a superb weekend, I have
the bruises and sores to prove it… roll on May 15th.

Just a couple of more things: A big thanks to Sarah for being the most solid
chelih dancer, it was so much fun. Also for her running the lighting and
Technical side at the show (thanks Paul as well).

Oh yes, we now have 3" of snow here!
