Getting to BMW...

…How do you do it?

Adam and I were going to get a lift, but it doesn’t look like we can any more. So… how else can we get there? The nearest station is apparently Lydney, but that’s still 10km away. I don’t think we can ride that far with a full load…

Buses? Handy arranged transport? cough kind, generous helpful people with cars?

Are you still in Malvern, Phil?

I am going to BMW on Friday evening. I have room for one passenger, or
maybe two if I dig out my bike rack. Malvern is vaguely on my route.
Would that be helpful?

Re: Re: Getting to BMW…

I think Phil is in Lincoln now before he goes to York; he gets about a bit

I’m going on Friday also and I’ve got one seat spare and I’ll have some floor space in my van (if one of you doesn’t mind roughing it for 10km) so if your stuck I could give you a lift from the train station.

Cheers, Gary

I’m stuck too. I can go really lightweight and ride down from Gloucester or
Lydney, but if anyone has a space in a car and could give me a lift from any
of Gloucester, Lydney, Swindon, Reading, or anywhere near London, that’d be
cool.

If the worst comes to the worst, there’s always taxis or minicabs which (at
least in London) aren’t too bad about carrying unicycles.

I did have an idea about coming down on the 29" from Gloucester and bivvying
in the forest. I haven’t been to a bmw before, would a 29" be a silly thing
to bring?

I can do Gloucester. I am travelling on Friday after work, is that OK?
Same question to Phil and Adam. Need to work out how many bodies I
can squeeze into the car…

Hmm… Coker and muni on the rack. My tent and garbage in the boot.
One passenger plus muni plus tent plus garbage is easy. Two passengers -
maybe.

Re: Re: Getting to BMW…

Joe,

I may be able to give you a lift if you could get yourself to the end of the met line (ie Amersham), I would probably be leaving at about 6pm of Friday.

I will not be able to confirm for a couple of days as it depends on other people who said they would come but are now not sure.

Let me know if you are interested.

Calvin.

Oooh, I’m definately interested in this if you’ve got room.

cheers,

Joe

grrrr, you lucky people,

just a few days ago i got booked to do a job that very weekend, and due to lack of jobs latley i had to take it,

so as you lot are having a lovely time, i’ll be lying on a bed of nails having paving slabs broken over my chest.

i’ll be at Durham though,

Re: Re: Re: Getting to BMW…

Cor, lots of lifts. I am indeed in Lincoln right now but the idea is I’m going to Kidderminster to meet Adam. So if you can squeeze in two people from there (or somewhere closer to your route we can get to by train) that’d be cool, Alan.

Failing that, we’d quite happily rough it on the top of a van for 10km if it got us to BMW!

Lol, I can just see you now strapped to the roof of my van

I think you would be better inside. BTW I have a long wheelbase VW Transporter window van with carpets and seats in the back.

OK. Friday evening, Kidderminster station.

I think I can be there for around 6:30.
When do you arrive?
Is Adam meeting you at the station?

Re: Getting to BMW…

Joe,

I have now spoken to the others involved and will have space for you in the car so if you want to email me (see my profile) and I will let you have my contact details (I do not give out such things on public forums !!)

For now if we say 6 pm at Amersham station, I will recognise you by the big bag and the unicycle !!

bfn,

Calvin.
