Wow 4-H Unicycle Club will be hosting a Unicycle Fun Meet at Maumee Bay
State Park, Oregon on Saturday, May 11, 2002.
Registrations begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Long Race beginning at 10:00.
Ribbons will be awarded for all events.
Lunch will be provided for registered riders and non riders.
Donation would be appreciated.
In case of bad weather the meet will be canceled.

can i ask why.i live in Oregon and this time of year (especialy on the coast)you never know what the weathers going to do.it just seems kind of lame to cancel if the weathers bad.after all this is Oregon and it rains here.plan for the summer next time if rain is so bad

This was sent to me by Jan Layne. The WOW team is in northern OHIO. There is a
city nearby named Oregon, and small city near Toledo on Lake Erie.
So to clarify - the fun meet is in Maumee Bay State Park (nearby) Oregon, OHIO.
As John Foss will testify, the weather can be really nice or really bad and any
thing in between this time of year. I think this is the “normal” date they
(WOW) hold the fun meet every year.

In Oregon, everyone would know to bring rain gear. In Ohio/Michigan, there
is a more typical chance of rain or sun. But in areas that don’t get so much
rain, people are less used to dealing with it.
I went to one of the meets at Maumee in 1999, and it rained the whole time.
Beirne Konarski, Dirk Iwema, and I rode up and down this big grassy hill,
getting entirely soaked in the process. Bierne didn’t even have a jacket! We
spent half the time hanging out in cars, waiting for a break in the weather.
It was kind of a bummer, because there were people there all the way from
Cleveland (a busload of kids), and we didn’t really get to do much.
