Just before our ride at Whiting Ranch today, (I got there a little early to warm up and get some new “Uni-Geezer” footage) I went to toss a cup in a trash receptacle when I spotted a FIVE FOOT Gopher snake…alive and well!
After showing it to the other riders (one in particular who let out a blood-curdling scream when he saw it!) a bit later I released it back into the wild so he’s a happy snakey now! 
Anyway we all had a great time, even though it was hot, the forest-like suroundings kept most of the sun off as we made our way through the semi-technical 5 mile out & back singletrack. Fun!
