If you are tall enough, doing a rolling mount might be the easist. = Basicly you
run and jump on and pedal backwards a little and you’re up. I’m = 6’2" and I
think this is the most consistant way for me, although the other = way isn’t too
bad with lots of practice. Good Luck

when you rolling mount a 6’ (or a 5’ for that matter) you kind of do it like
mounting a regular uni (I’m not crazy, keep reading). The idea is the
combonation of pedling backwards and jumping gives you enough energy to get up.
When I do it, I start running kind of with the uni already under me (like how
you would have the seat if you were going to rolling mount a standard uni) I put
the unicycle seat in rideing position as I’m jumping on.

the real trick is to jump when the pedal is in the “down” position (down if the
uni was strait up and down) that way when your foot gets there, the pedals are
in the horisontal power position. help yourself get all the way up by pedaling
backwards alittle bit and you’re 6 feet in the air.

A few skills that make riding a giraff alot easer is being able to idle with
both feet and ride backwards. Enjoy yourself and have fun knowing you can get
back up whenever you want

Peter, it is so great to hear you say that! I’m 6’1" and I have a 6’ Sem. I
can’t freemount it, half ‘cause I’m not a terrific unicyclist, and half because
I’m petrified of the obvious, emminent “dangly bits” problem associated with
jumping on a giraffe. Would you mind explaining just how you get your butt 6
feet up with a mere jump? Or is this a 5’ giraffe trick only? I sure hope not…
