FOR SALE: Schlumpf hub + misc

In case of any questions regarding the following matter: yes, the Schlumpf was stolen by me personally. Along with a complete set of Schlumpf tools and an original Schlumpf cap (which I don’t plan on selling).

What I’d like to exchange for money is:

  • a set of 36 black spokes, used to install the Schlumpf hub to a 29" rim,

  • a set of bombproof Kris Holm 137-165mm cranks compatible with the hub,

  • the allen key and the mushroom-button holder tool,

  • the piece for tightening the cranks onto the hub and an adapter for it for the torque wrench I was using,

  • 1.5 syringes of genuine hub grease,

  • the Schlumpf hub itself, recently lubed, complete with everything that came with it.

You’ll notice on the pictures that the hub has it’s anti-dust shields glued onto it with not the cleanest gluing job you’ve seen. The reason for this is that the original ones fell off right after I got the hub, and Schlumpf sent me some epoxy to put them back on. Unfortunately it was the same adhesive they originally used and which led to the shields coming loose and falling off. So I researched a bit and found an epoxy brand that is both vibration and oil resistant. And it held the dust covers reliably for the past decade. I guarantee the dust shields not to ever fall off if you’ll just leave the epoxy where it is right now… I know it looks a tad messy, but it does the job.

The whole wheel the hub was in the center of was professionally built by a company that does only that, they build wheels, with proper tension on every spoke. The cranks were always installed with a torque wrench and the hub itself was always installed into my Kris Holm frame using a torque wrench too. The whole time the hub was in my shed, it was always regularly lubed, about every half a year, regardless of whether it was ridden or not. So all in all, the hub was handled precisely by the book and is in as good a condition as a 12 yo piece of mildly used equipment can be.

The hub was bought (yes, stolen) about 12 years ago and have never really seen much use, afters spending the better part of the last decade on a wall hook, with only occasional use and regular oil refills every half a year, and that’s exactly why I decided to part with it. I’ve never ridden the unicycle Muni style in any mountains, nor was it jumped on; the worst it’s seen was some flat off-road, and 99% of the time it was used on paved roads.

Apart from what’s being sold here, I’m keeping the rest of the parts left from my 29er, hoping to rebuilt it someday with a regular hub.

I’d like to get PLN 6000 (Polish zloty) for the lot. It’s about EUR 1400. I’d also like the buyer to cover the PayPal fees and shipping costs.

Shipping Europewide, including Switzerland and Brexit countries. I might consider worldwide too, drop me a PM if you’re from somewhere else. Personal collection in Wroclaw, Poland also very much welcome.
