food

We’re working on a menu for the concession stand at NUC 99. Anyone have any
comments on food they’ve had at past NUCs? Right now we are planning on pizza,
subs(Blimpies), drinks and pasta salads. Barb K. Barb K.

Generally when food has been available on site at NUCs, it has generally been
poor, hot dog stand type of stuff. I appreciate being given the chance at some
input, and hope this is helpful.

For myself, greasy burgers and hot dogs are fine, but not every day. Pizza is
always a winner with the kids. The subs and pasta salads sound great, because
they are more in line with real food. I hope there will be some fruit (apples,
bananas, etc.) and a choice of beverages beyond sodas and bottled water. Fruit
juices or sports drinks would be nice, beer is optional

(don’t get me wrong, beer was an always-available commodity at UNICON last
summer, but cultures and liquor licensing laws are different over there… BTW,
I don’t drink beer myself)

Generally, try to make it so people don’t have to eat grease, or meat, or
drink sodas if they don’t want, and have a healthy alternative. This will make
NUC 99 even more the national athletic event that it already is, and less of a
“kid’s event”.

Looking forward to it!
