FNG: Progress by the half-a-turn

Hello, My name is Ron and my first unicycle arrive via UPS from UnicycleSource
today. I’ve been at it for about an hour total this evening and this is
exhausting! I’m going along holding onto the fence with one hand and can get
about a turn and a half on the cranks every 30 tries or so. This is fun so far.
I’m an experienced two wheeler and I thought that uni experience would help me
to balance in place (nearly) while waiting for red lights(track stand). If I
ever get this figured out, track standing on my bike will be a breeze. I’ve been
lurking for a week or so and I’ve learned quite a lot. Thanks.

Don’t count on it…I thought the same thing when I started, but idling on a
unicycle is a lot different than doing trackstands on a bike…I still can’t do
one…but I might be able to do it on a fixed-gear track bike though.

Of course now that you’ve caught the unicycle bug you probably won’t be riding
your bike much anyway

That’s sure true. I’ve been on my bike about twice since I got my unicycle last
spring, probably not more then 5 minutes each. I thought about giving my bike to
someone recently…

Hang in there, Ron. For me, it took a couple of weeks to get the uni really
going. After that, it’s a total blast!
