Flansberrium unicycles

Wow, that was fast! Got home today and saw a box. I thought it was some other stuff I had ordered, but I saw Flansberry on the return lable and couldn’t get the box open fast enough :astonished: .

Jakob, the frame is absolutely beautiful. I love round crown frames, and the larget crown area on these is very appealing to me. VERY light, and seems to be strong (as well as I can tell by flexing the legs a bit with my hand). Admittidly, I don’t want to flex them too much as I’m still fairly new to aluminum frames and don’t know what they can take as far as lateral flex. Hopefully some since I have to flex it a bit to slip past my rim :astonished: .

As far as polishing goes, I’m actually digging the brushed/industrial look, and think I’m going to leave it alone for now. It screams MUNI!

Jakob, I really hope you’ll find a way to keep doing this. If you do, I would absolutely buy another one some day. Anyway, I’ve already told you what I think of the whole exprience.

Good on you dude. These are freaking awesome.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Edit: I had to edit this post because it had too many smilies in it! :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and is rubbing alcohol save to use on the bare aluminum?

Holy poop man that was some insanely quick shipping!!!

Im still waiting for some more parts, once they all come in I post pictures of the new whip.

Such a lovely frame man! I love it!!!

Wow. That is a very sweet looking ride. Perhaps I need to give that Dirt Wizard another chance (or up my game).

Looks awesome!
Does the involvement of LS3 mean that we will soon see a video of it?

I have mine finished, but still need to get pictures up…

Well I think Jacob is the right person to check durability of this frame

Ya think?

(I think Jacob needs to be honored for contributing one of the best crash clips ever to the pantheon of unicycle videos. This will always be one of my favorites!)

Sure, isn’t these jumps the best test of durability:D?

Took the flansberry frame out for a small road trip the other day! I broke before the uni did!

Oh. My. God. That looked terrifying. Out of curiosity, how many bones have you broken since you started unicycling?

Wow it’s been a while since I checked the forums! I’m still on my Post-Unicon Muni trip. Riding hard in British-Columbia on my prototype Flansberrium frame

Thanks everyone for the super awesome comments! I’m glad everyone likes their frames and other’s frames  I have to stop the production for a while. I am going back to Xprezo to work. I’ll be back on the Flansberrium frames eventually though! It’s a project that turned out much better than expected and I’m really hoping I can still make sone riders enjoy my frames in the futur! I will be back with better skills of preparation and welding to make even nicer frames!

Huge thanks again everyone! Keep posting the pictures please!

Finally, I got a picture. Been busy with another project lately, and admittedly, haven’t taken this thing on it’s first ride yet.

That changes tomorrow. What better ride to break it in with than a 25 mile 4000+ ft. slog fest?

A tribute to my favorite auther Stephen King, Pennywise decals grace the frame legs along with Bango Skank on the seat tube.

I like Orange.

That looks sweet I wanna know how she rides. I have a spare shadow handle if I had known you were getting one. :sunglasses:

Riding it is interesting. It took some time to get the pressure dialed in to get auto steering to a minimum, and even then, if you hit some off camber stuff just right you’d better hang on.

It’s different though. For double track (which is what I built it for) it’ll be great. For single track, I have to do some more riding on it first.

Hi Jakob,

I kept my promise and your frame got to see some Vermont mud

I even had my good friend fall in love with the muni. And one thing is sure: your frame is grabbing all attention and I got several riders impressed by your frame and how sweet looking it is.

They just don’t know how sweeter it is to ride than to look at…

Sweet picture ^

I set mine up tubeless a few days ago. The Floater + Rolling Darryl fit together pretty tightly. I think it’s going to be a good combination for tubeless.

Edit: pic not really related to tubeless. Just wanted to post another uni picture

I’ve had my Floater and Darryl tubeless since I set up the uni, and love the combo. I’ve had it as high as 15 psi, but usually run lower (5-10?). The seal has proven to be as good as my Duro was on a D2 rim (read: excellent). No burps so far, and I’ve landed ~2ft drops with it.

My first ride was a bit sketchy, but I attribute that to the trail I was riding. I’ve never had a good ride on that trail regardless of unicycle. On my Sunday ride, it performed perfectly. I love the massive tire and the feeling of rolling through rock gardens. The frame is definitely solid, and I have no complaints so far. My favorite Muni now.

My best friend and I went to a 3h Muni ride recently and he rode the Monster Truck. He totally fell in love with it ! He even told me that it was the first time since he started unicycling that he go the feeling of mountain riding (he mountain biked a lot in his young days).

Fortunately for me, he has to fly back home so he couldn’t leave with the unicycle :stuck_out_tongue:

Huge thanks to Jacob for making possible such fun-packed unicycles !!!
