You’ll see more of Kris on TBS Wednesday night; Ripleys Believe-It-Or-Not is
running a segment filmed about a month ago. Several friends have called to say
they’ve seen the promo ads on TV. Here’s a link to the TBS site:
Extreme Unicyclist - Kris Holm has taken unicycling to extremes. Kris rides his
one-wheeled bike places that most people are afraid to walk through. He is an
extreme unicyclist, and he’s able to ride off of a 20-foot tree onto a van, then
blaze along the shear edge of a 2,000-foot cliff descending onto a 65-degree
slope of slippery granite. The scariest part of his freewheeling adventure:
unicycles are not built to handle such abuse and they don’t have brakes!
[Editor’s note: Oh yes they do!]

Funny, I didn’t think this was coming out until September! Haven’t seen any of
this footage or the segment yet but glad that it was OK. Could someone email me
and tell me when they saw the promo ads, and exactly when this was on TV? (I
need to make a record of this stuff).
Also, in the description of the segment they say:
… ride off > of a 20-foot tree onto a van…
Did they show me going off a stump onto the top of a van in the segment (ie.
footage from the video Evolve)? I’m trying to sort out where they bought
footage from.
Thanks,
Kris.

I recorded the Ripley’s show. If you’re going to be at the muni weekend I can
bring the tape.

I should have been more direct in what I said. I will be bringing the
tape of Kris on Ripley’s. The Ripley’s show will replay at Lake Tahoe over
MUni Weekend.

I saw the segment on Ripleys Believe it or Not on TBS and they didn’t say
“riding off a 20 foot tree on to a van”, they just said riding off a 20 foot
tree. I don’t remember hearing anything about a van

Kris, great riding on the Ripley’s Believe it Or Not show. I saw it on TBS
earlier in the week. I didn’t hear or see anything about riding off a 20 ft.
tree or stump on to a van. Just riding off a 20 ft. tree. I was gritting my
teeth thru the whole thing.
Lowell, a newbe still learning.

Yes! Bring the tape. Late night unicycle tape watching is part of the fun.

One-wheeled BIKE!? Isn’t that an oxymoron? I hate it when I’m riding along and
I hear a parent saying to their small child - “Look, Little Johnny! A one
wheeled bicycle!”
No wonder some of us kids are so ignorant…

Okay, the real purpose of this message… I thought this was going to be aired
in September, too. Will it be shown again? I would like to see it. I also live
in Vancouver where this was filmed.
Here’s another listing from Guiness World Records. The channel is for Rogers
Cablesystems in Vancouver.
Guinness World Records: Primetime Type: Network Series / Reality Duration: 1 hr

Thanks, Graham.
PS. I might possibly have the chance to buy a used Coker today! With the risk
of Murphy’s Law, I’m really looking forward to it!
