What will be happening at Eurocycle 2001
The event kicks off at 4pm on Friday the 20th July, with halls open for
riding and some workshops ( probadly uni hockey for novices and easy
unicycle tricks). the convention bar will be open in the evening for older
riders to chillout and enjoy a beer and catch up on the gossip.
The european Unicycle Hockey tornament will take place on saturday with
the finals ( and maybe semis) played on Sunday afternoon. A Basket ball
competition will take place if there are any basketball teams wishing to
play .More workshops will take place on saturday during the weekend ,
Julien Monney will be giving a workshops on subjects as varied as mounts
and unicycle manipulation. We hope Julien will also give a technical
demonstartion of his astounding riding skills.
Saturday afternoon will feature some typical British uni games , played
with the typical british uni disregard for winning (we hope). On saturday
evening there will be a laid back BUC style show staring YOU the
eurocyclist and also , Leigh&Kayleigh , Will Stevens and Julien Monney.
After the show you are invited to the convention bar where local cabaret
entertainer Harry Lea will be preforming.
Sunday morning for the energetic will feature unicycle races at the "
Brickfields Track" 100m IUf rules, 100m unlimited and 400m IUF rules.
Those who want a gentler start to the day might like to take in Historic
Plymouth harbour on a social ride which is sure to include ice cream stops
and possibly some shopping.
Our final afternoon will include the AGM of the Union of UK Unicyclists
and the Eurocycle business meeting where we decide where to go next year.
We will round the event off with the Hockey finals and prize giving before
the unicyclists of europe scatter to the four winds once again.
If you are planning on pre registering for this event please note that pre
reg closes on June 30th. this is to give the organisers time to sort out A
european unicycle convention catering ( pre reg price includes food) and
to mail a confirmation letter to all registered attenders with directions,
essential info etc.
If you do not pre register you will be able to buy day tickets on the
door, at a cost of 5 pounds for kids and non riders , 10 pounds for
adult riders. A day ticket is just that, if you come for the whole
weekend you will need to buy more than one day ticket. Day tickets do
not include meals or campsite arrangements. Day tickets can only be
bought on the door.
