Grant Peterson of Rivendell Bicycle Works had a little write-up of last month’s
Interbike show in his newsletter (The Rivendell Reader) and mentioned that MKS
(Mikashima - Japan) is now offering a new pedal axle that allows you to remove
the pedals in a second, without a wrench.
He wrote that they offer it as an option on most of their pedals. MKS makes
several models of traditional style pedals (i.e. “rat-trap”) that are used for
track and cyclocross bikes. They are good quality pedals - I have a pair on one
of my bikes.
This might be worth investigating if you find that you often have to remove your
pedals to transport your unicycle…or maybe the Unicycle Source could try and
get some…
