I recently ordered a Duro Crux 27.5x3.25 and instead received a Duro Miner 27.5x3.00. This looks to be a decent tire at a similar price point, with an aggressive tread. Which is what I wanted. I emailed the company in question informing them of the error and I’m waiting to get their response, but I’m wondering if maybe I should just give this tire a try. Anyone else have any experience with it?
I have a Duro miner 27.5 x3 on my URC/M4O uni, and I like it. I don’t know how it compares to the Duro Crux 27.5 x 3.25 though.
That’s good to hear, since I know you had camber issues with your Big Apples. The main reason I ordered it was because of camber issues with a Maxxis High Roller II, so if you don’t notice camber issues with it, then that’s a good sign.
I have the duro miner in 27.5 x3 and it really seams to ride nice. But I don’t have a lot of experience riding to compare it to anything else.
Did you get to try it out yet? I have the Duro Crux 3.25 in my 27.5 Oracle but it rubs sometimes against the frame slightly under higher pedal load (not much clearance… maybe 1/8"?).
I’m wondering if I might want to eventually go down to a 3.0 to have more clearance
No. I left it unopened in the wrapper until I heard back from the vendor. They sent me a new Duro Crux and a paid return envelope for the Miner.
And since they promptly made things right, I’ll go ahead and mention I ordered it from Blue Sky Cycling. In my experience they seem to be a good place to do business with.
I ordered a Duro Crux 27.5x3.25 tire from Blue Sky per your recommendation, and it shipped quickly. Great price, also!
