Crazy Bicycles

Pictures and descriptions of 12 crazy bicycle contraptions.

i like the tour de low, lowrider bike, but it would be so hard to ride like that! lol

I saw the sideways bike in person one time, it was increidble.

Some of those bikes have three, four, and more wheels. That is crazy to call a trike, quad, etc. a BIke.

I have seen a couple of kids recently riding stretched bikes, very low with a huge rear tyre. Something like that 4" wide beast I have seen on someone’s unicycle wheel. The bikes look very hard to ride, and I suspect they will have little speed. Don’t have any more details, but I suspect they were bought rather than built.

Yes, there are commercial low-rider chopper style bicycles. The one you saw is probably the Schwinn Sting-Ray.

Others are made by Felt, Nirve, Micargi, and others. Custom builders are Rain City Choppers, and others.

The bikes are designed for style and not practical riding. Cruising along a beech boardwalk trail in southern California would be fun on a bike like that.

I have a bookmark folder for web sites featuring chopper cruisers and other cruiser bikes. It’s neat to see the styling they do.

yes the bike I saw was very very similar to that Sting Ray, although I think the rear tyre might have been even larger. Thanks
