Our container of Coker unicycles has arrived. We’ll spend the weekend
re-seating the bearings and crank arms, truing each wheel, and applying
a final polish. Shipments begin Monday.
If the Government can only hurry up with my return I got the Go-Ahead with my Wife !!! She still can’t figure out why I need another one when I have three (uni’s, not Cokers / I wish) in the shed.

Quik-
someone convince me to get a coker! (preforably one
with a miyata seat.) Im in college, and I really want
one, but I have no money to spare (except for a coker,
if im convinced) I could use one to get around on. It
would be totally hella bitchin’!
If you really want a 36" wheel and refuse to spend more than $300- then go for it. However, if you are willing to spend a little more: John has money down with Avro for 36" rims. The stock Coker rim and hub suck (more so the rim). My Wheel was 1 cm out of true ON EACH SIDE. This was rectified with the aid of a spoke wrench (partly, anyway). The rim is heavy and weak. I’v heard tell of one spoked of by Kovachi that collapsed straight away- it just can’t take it. I’v stoped any attempts to twist hop in place to turn around in tight spots- seeing the wheel flex lateraly was enough warning for me.
The new rims will be much stronger, lighter and true. The wheel should accelerate faster and wabble less at speed- and allow for the use of a Suzue hub…
I’d like to point out that HARPER’S is like riding a Lincoln Continental because of the fuzzy dice and ceramic chiahuahua (with the bobbing head) on the crown. Mine bairs no resembalance to this travisty on one wheel; it actualy handdles remarkably like a 73’ Chevy Impala…

Nick - BUY ONE TODAY!!! The first time you get on a
Coker is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. Once you try it
you’ll never go back. Hilda and I GO places! FAST!

I too am a starving college student. I bought my Coker last semester and I don’t regret it at all. I ride mine everywhere, it probably has more miles on it this week than my car.
And of course, if you get the Coker you’ll be an instant campus celebrity (if you already weren’t, even more so if you were).

We have just had confirmation that we have a batch on their way to us in the
UK. We will have ours in the Middle if April! and they are sending over
some tyres and innertubes, at long last!

How far do you live from a hardware store? What kind of seat do you have? Is it a Viscount? If it is, I would swear that the nuts are 1/4-20, about as common as you can get in the U.S. You could probably even find the nyloc type for a nickel to a quarter each. If not, there must be somewhere close by (auto parts) where you could get whatever metric nut you need. I would rather do that than wait for unicycle.com to send them to me.
Don’t get me wrong. The Drummonds will make sure you get what you need fast. They sure sent replacement bearings and LocTite to me fast when the bearing slipped on my Coker. I would just go to the store and get the nuts for next to nothing rather than having to wait to ride.
Should be an M6 if I remember rightly although might be m5 but should be
easy if you measure across the threads. Definitely metric not imperial.

About 5 minutes from a 24-hour Home Depot: I got the nuts and washers
yesterday. It just irked me they didn’t come with the yike.

What hardware did you buy? Was it for a Viscount seat? On my Viscount, 1/4-20 nuts fit perfectly. Of course my seat is yellow which may mean non-metric in the cycling world of standardization.
Does anyone know if M6 coarse will mate with 1/4-20? This is where Rhysling will tell us he has a nature film of just that act…although by all rights it would be considered unnatural.

I got a phone call from Coker yesterday, they said they’d send out the nuts
and instruction manual (!) the factory forgot.
Looks like this isn’t happening; although John’s working on another rim deal, the Avro thing seems to have fallen through. The only feed back for Avro on Mountain Bike Review was from a client who sent cash and got nothing in return…
'Suppose it might be worth persuing the Snow Cat angle again…
