Coker frame dimensions ???

This is a request to you Coker owners:

I want to build (or order to be built) my own Coker frame, but I don’t want to buy a standard Coker frame first, so…

Could you please let me know the current critical dimensions of the standard Coker frame?

  • inside distance between forks, both at the crown and at the bearing holders… if it’s different
  • space between inside bottom of crown and top of tyre/tire
  • length of seatpost tube

umm… I guess that’s all I really need.

Oh, yeah… what’s the inside diameter of a standard Coker’s seatpost tube… does it accept a Miyata seatpost?

Also, if you have any pet peeves about features of the Coker frame that should be improved/changed/fixed… I’d like to hear that. too!

Thanks in advance!

My Miyata seat post fits in the standard Coker but is a snidge more snug.

The Inside Distance at the bearing holders measures 75mm and is the same up the fork until it bends into the crown. There is 10mm between the tire and bottom of seat post tube, the tube is 105mm.

I note the flange width on the standard Coker is 55mm but the Suzue high flange hub flange width is 60mm. Is the fork wider on the Coker Deluxe?

Also, has the Suzue hub been sufficent? Is anyone using a Profile hub or the Wide Suzue hub?

I have recently had a custom frame made (check out pictures at
http://www.unicyclist.com/gallery/albun81) I will get these measurments
for you tonight, I have a very snug fit between the wall of the tyre and
the frame. My fork blades are parallel, from memory the distance between
outside edges of the bearings was 104mm, this is on the Airfoil wheelset
with the Suzue hub.

I measured my seat post on the weekend, and again from memory it was
about 170mm, I am using a Miyata Saddle post that I had to cut myself to
get it to fit. I can’t put the seat any lower and it is the right height
for me. I am about 5’10" with a 33" insem.

Thanks

I measured my frame last night and here’s what I came up with, I was
using a tape measure so these aren’t 100% accurate.

At the crown about 61/62mm, this is probably the minimum that you could
have, the forks do taper down but I couldn’t measure this due to the
spokes, I think it is about 70mm, as this is approx the distance between
the inside edges of the bearings

23mm

> * length of seatpost tube

The length of the stem (between the top of the crown to the top of the
frame) is 175mm, the seat post is only a bit longer than this.

Hope this helps.
