HI

I own a Coker and I want to know the standard crank size and what is the best
crank size for faster speeds. Are smaller cranks faster? If so where can I get
really small ones?

The standard cranks (unless you got them from the first batch) are 6".
Shortening the cranks does not let you ride faster. They make you ride smoother
with less stress on the knees. Your average speed increases when you put shorter
cranks on because you ride more consistently - but is harder and more dangerous
to ride as there is less chance of recovery.

The standard size is 152 mm cranks, which IMO is the perfect size for the
average Coker rider. Smaller cranks are not any faster in my experience with 125
mm cranks on mine, but it does allow you to have a more constant speed at the
loss of a little control. If you try shorter ones, go with the next size down
from what you have now, and get used to them before you go even shorter, if
desired. While 152 mm cranks can be found at most cycling shops, shorter ones
such as 125 mm cranks are hard to come by unless they specialize in unicycles
such as shops like unicycle.com, Osell’s (612-788-5200), The Unicycle Factory
(http://www.tux.org/~bagleyd/unicycle_factory/), Siegmono (http://siegmono.de/),
and many others.
