Circus Joke.

A old circus joke which goes something like.

How do you kill a circus?

Go for the juggler.

What I want to know is why? i dont find this funny at all, all i seem to do is think why they would go for the juggler…

Re: Circus Joke.

You’re joking, right?

I used that joke with some 4th graders and not a single one got it. In the 5th grade class that followed one or two got it, but steadfastly refused to laugh.

Why is it suposed to be funny? what dont I get?

Trev

Ha… Your winding us up Trev…

I have heard jokes in a better vein mind…

That’s one of the better jokes I’ve heard all week. Well, at least it’s only Tuesday. There’s still some time to get the blood flowing to the head.

Daniel

I don’t get it either… I feel all stupid…

Thanks

Well i still dont get it!!! I cant see how a juggler could play a huge part in killing a circus.

Trev

The real expression is “Go for the jugular” (as in jugular vein – the veins in the neck, which if slashed would make you bleed to death)

what is that the reason? thats so odd though, not much of a joke.

your from New Jersey the home of jay and silent bob Yeeeaaaaghhh

Trev

That’s a great joke. It took me a few seconds to get it…I like jokes like that.

I thought that was a great joke too!

Pretty good. I didn’t get the vein part, and I thought it meant something like the juggler was the only good part. I’m dumb.

David

OOHHHHH I get it!! I didn’t know what a jugular was, by the name… I still feel all stupid, but now I feel slightly smarter!

You weren’t stupid at all, you were ignorant. And I mean that in a totally nice way (and remember it was YOU who had to explain a few things to ME several months ago).

You simply lacked one item of knowledge – and no amount of intelligence in the world would have helped.

And now, you are less ignorant, but no smarter. :frowning: *

  • = you are plenty smart enough already (I’m just being explicit because it’s hard to tell when people are joking or serious here)

Huh. I can’t tell if I was just complimented or insulted. :stuck_out_tongue: jk

maybe i should have read it out loud to have understood…sometimes that helps

overall, good joke, i just feel stupid now.

Not another one! This joke is evil!

It spreads nothing but unhappiness. Evil joke!

because when you kill the juggler all the knives, clevers and chainsaws that he was juggling go flying…thus killing the circus.

It doesn’t turn out the same when it’s written down though does it? I mean are you meant to pronounce juggler slightly different so they can understand? Otherwise people won’t really know that you mean the jugular?
