šŸ’¬ Chat enabled for direct messaging

Hi, fellow unicyclists!

I’ve enabled the chat feature. Only personal (group included) chats are available, there are no public channels.

You can access it via the image icon on the top right.

The header must be reworked for the mobile view.
Let me know if you face any other issue

Hell yeah :fire:
Thanks for this new feature! That’s great for chit chatting, when ā€œfornalā€ messages aren’t required.

Check your chat

I believe they intend, in the future, to merge the PMs and chat direct messages features, as they feel redundant.

There is actually no room for the chat Symbol in the mobile browser, or rather, it hides away my most used button - the unicycle - so that I notoriously press the calendar instead… It is really hard to press the exact right pixel at the edge of my screen now!

This is actuall very annoying as I frequently want to go back to the forum main page and don’t have any other ways to get there. If I scroll up or down in a post, the unicycle button will luckily appear again together with the topic title, so I find myself scrolling furiously up and down to find it nowadays.

Thanks for reminding me to fix this

I’ve disabled the donation icon on mobile, so the logo is larger now.

Tell me if it works well for you.

With enough donations you can have an extra unicycle holiday. Maybe the donation button should be more prominent

I don’t care, I don’t have holidays :face_with_tongue:

This works great! Super! :star_struck:

Wait. Holiday from or for unicycling?

For unicycling, hopefully!

I would never say FROM unicycling. That would be treason to the unicycle. They are part of the family and naturally should have holidays dedicated to them

Actually, I did participate in a downhill event (great municycling, great people, great fun) on thursday and have massively sore muscles since friday. The only way for me to walk down stairs right now is backwards (no, I’m not saying Iā€˜m walking them up). So I kinda have holidays from unicycling . At least the reason for that is the best possible one .

I’ve also heard at somepoint if you have muscles from say running, you should go running again the day after and then the muscle aches will go away. So don’t take a holiday from (m)unicycling, but get on as soon as possible.

But maybe you’re just getting old :stuck_out_tongue:

I certainly do! I donā€˜t think I could even freemount a uni at the moment.
Last year I had sore muscles for 4 days after the event. Will see where I end this year. I hoped I was going to do better since overall fitness and muni skills have improved* (notably the use of the brake), but then that just meant I rode harder than last year… So the resulting pain should be similar.

*I was sometimes really surprised to see what rocks and roots and steep terrain I could ride without dismounting when last year I wouldnā€˜t even dare to give them a try :+1:. To be fair, last yearā€˜s event was only my second serious muni ride ever, and this year I had a better tire …and Iā€˜m aware that I still have a long way to go.

then you’re doing better than me. Back when I lived in DK, I did much more muni. This year I wanted to ride those tracks again that I did so many years ago, but I already dismounted after the first 10 metres. I’ve mostly been riding asphalt in NL.

Yeah, I guess there are countries that are better suited for muni than the Netherlands …e.g. Switzerland
