Well done! I think we might be looking at the world’s first highway legal unicycle here. Did you weld the frame yourself?

Yep, all welded myself from just 30x30 box section (even including the axle) and some donor parts off a unicycle :+1:

I would imagine it’s got a bunch of momentum once you get the wheel rolling. :uni: :dashing_away: What would you estimate the wheel diameter is?

Yes, has a massive amount of momentum once it is spinning, the trouble is getting it spinning in the first place :joy:

The tyre on it is 195/65R16, so has an approximate outer diameter of 26"

I just saw one the other day when browsing the Thai unicycle facebook page. Isn’t it strange having your legs out so wide? Do you need shin guards to ride it?

Yeah it does feel a bit odd at first, but soon get used to it. Have however had to put padding at top corners of frame to stop them from slicing up legs

Oh man. That soothes my inner hillbilly redneck Red Green duck tape handyman tendencies. Love it.

Wow! That monster is a beautiful addition to your collection. Great job!

this looks really cool

I tried riding one (with a somewhat bigger tire) that a local arts collective made about a decade ago. I just couldn’t get enough momentum to get it rolling, so good job!

Yeah, 100% takes a tonne of momentum to get it spinning, it makes any other unicycle that you then go onto feel incredibly light and almost too easy to spin :joy:

…should have used an aluminium alloy rim!
Add an offroad tyre, and all those Hatchets (and my beloved Oregon) are dwarfed by the new king of fatties.

@Uni_Jack Do you think you could ride this unicycle on a beach?

If so, is that the only type of unicycle capable of such a feat?

I’ll bet idling that uni would be hard!

Stand stills made easy.

You don’t idle that uni. The uni idles you!
