Can't stop talking about unicycling?

I think it’s great that research like this is being done. Top notch!

I don’t qualify, but I think my wife does  Though I would submit that I qualify in spirit, since I started at age 20 (only a year off), but took 11 years and 2 schools to get my bachelors after graduating HS (if that’s not slacking, I don’t know what is ;)). I also co founded the (now defunct) Bishop’s University Unicycle Club, and helped teach a handful of members how to ride.

Good luck with your research!

I’ve had some really great responses. Thanks for the interest and encouragement.

For those of you that are really that interested…

I’m seeking to gather data to support anecdotal comments that I’ve been hearing for the last few years of unicycling having a positive impact on motivation and self-esteem. I am taking a narrative approach to tell the stories of some young riders for whom this is so. As it is a very small sample I have collected some quantitative data to try and identify any general trends which may or may not support the qualitative data. My research project mixes the paradigms of sociology, psychology and education. It is not a scientific study so I am not looking for statistical significance. Of course it is highly subjective but I acknowledge this from the start with a stong emphasis on researcher reflexivity.

Thanks again

Wendy

I’m down for this, I scraped by in high school and barely made it out, then went on to start college, then work for a year and a half and now I’m rethinking what I want to do with my life.
