I want to grind, I have a funbox 20"x3’x3’ front steps and an iron box/tube 10" wide 16 feet long. To learn to grind do I want a flat grind rail or and downward slope (how much slope)? Does a candle work to wax the rail? Do Snafu pedals work with the pins removed (or can I leave them in)? I pedal grab with my hind foot, can I grind the same way? Most importantly: how do I setup the rail using the three objects I have available? Thank you in advance for your kind help, for kindly being helpful…

My Grind Rail with pics.

I finally got my rail finished. I cut the pieces and then I talked to a guy who welded them for me. The two legs are 15" high. The bases are 2ft long. The whole thing is around 5 and 1/2 feet. There is about 4 inches left on the ends past the legs of it. I can grind about half of it. I go up and land on it in the middle somewhere and grind off the end. setting up a "grind" rail at home

Has anybody ever done this? Since I’m totally new at grinding I thought it would be easier to learn by having a nice, slippery rail that I could set up at home. Would it maybe be easiest to get the “feel” for it if I were to let the rail angle down to the ground from 3 or 4 pallets, then from the top of the pallets I could just “hop” onto it and gravity would help me slide down? I think since I still have trouble doing a rolling hop high enough to latch onto the rail, hopping onto the rail sta…
