Best Videos of 2003...

As the year winds to an end, I think it best for us to take a look back at the many videos and clips we have had the honor of viewing. These videos have served as motivation and guidance for many new trials, MUni and freestyle riders (myself included). The sport of unicycling is better off because of these videos.

The vast majority of the videos were produced simply for the love of the sport with very little financial backing and with not so much as a thought of profit.

I propose using this thread as a means to bring recognition to the videos which have made the biggest impression on you in the areas of best riding, best editing, most inspiring, most original, and sheer awesomeness.

As well as mentioning the name of the riders/film and title of the videos you wish to recognize, please include in your post the location (URL) where the video can be found, if on the Internet.

Do you mean online movies, like 5-10 minutes long, or actual movies that you buy?

Anything having to do with Unicycling. But mostly the online stuff. Long or short, if you like it, I want to hear about it.

Daniel.

Ryan Atkin’s Big Movie and Rivah Ride, seen here, for most inspiring, best raw riding.

There are many others but these two stand out.

The “schoolyard” short found at the Moab site gets my vote for most subtle humor. See here.

Although not unicycling, this juggling video, all bounce juggling “steals”
is new, awesome, and a free internet download. Let me know what you think.

Hi,

Here is a video from Germany we made. I think it is really good. But have a look by yourself and get your own impression,

Lutz

My personal favorite movie is Muniac. It’s awesome.
Also U of I. Oh, wait, that one’s mine.

Dan Doerksen’s video simply titled “Demo” is the most amazing street riding I have ever seen. The editing is also flawless, and his use of slow motion really adds to some of his crazier tricks. The music is also great, not sure what the song title is, but the band is definately Sneaker Pimps.

Unfortunately, he no longer has it up on his site, in fact, he no longer has much of anything on his site: www.cleardrear.com

I guess he has his reasons for taking it off, otherwise with his permission I’d put it up somewhere for you guys to see it.

Truely an amazing talent from British Columbia. I don’t think he posts here.

Edit: However, 2003 isn’t over yet, lets not forget that Universe II is suppose to be here in time for Christmas!

Couldn’t agree more.

For ones that are on unicyclist.com I’d say:

Kevins (Tugboat):

(Although I liked it more when it was done to MxPx  )

I think Doerksen’s video would have to be my favorite to. He’s also got a section in U2 where he rips it up. Pulls a 360 down a long six stair.

thank you for the support of the video… unfortunately, the song became too short as i was landing new tricks almost everyday. so i had to change it. and there is also the legal perspective. i am now allowed legally to use that song in my video since i have permission of the artist (martin davidson)

as for the ebst video? next to mine (haha kidding) id have to say i really like dan doerksons stuff too.

cough
personnaly, I think that the
THREE THOUSAND- NINE HUNDRED AND NINTY-ONE
views of the Flaming puck hockey video speaks for its self. (numbers are bigger when spelled out)
here, let me post a link so you can bask in the glory of this years finest film:

“Keep cool my babys”- conan o brien

Yeah, the flaming puck hockey was overly awesome, but I’m voting for general trials/MUni/street videos. Sorry, Dan.
