Yesterday my self and my unicycle accomplice Pete went out for a Muni ride…And it was lovely. We went up to a place called Tegg’s nose in the peak district and then went down through Macclesfield forest and along the gritstone trail to Macclesfield. Taking in a couple of pub stops along the way for a bit of real ale sustenance.
The ride incorporated big descents through forests with many walkers to dodge, rain storms, bright sunshine, hopping streams and riding through fords. logs to ride alng, walls and steps and benches to play on…Oooh I could go on…
All there is to say is that it was a lovely ride, despite the 15 minute unridable uphill…though we felt a bit better walking it when we caught up with some MTB’ers doing the same.
And a big hats off to Pete. He’s only been riding a couple of months and was riding pretty crazy terrain excellently.
We took a few piccies and video clips on Pete’s mobile phone. Unfortunately it’s not very good quality. However I found a website with some nice pictures of the area we were riding, some good pictures of various fungus too?!?!:
trying to work out where to ride next Sunday. also planning a weekend up in Grizedale forest in the next few weeks. Will definitely have some pics from that.
Amazing, i want to get out and explore on the uni, butit’s snow and ice everywhere, and +2C warm, it’s booring!
Well… in may it should have dried up, a bit, but in april it will be sweeeet!
And this summer i’ll go to our cabin, to ride muni there for the very first time! A picture from the wilderness

Excellent Mr Boogle, good pictures, and some areas I recognised well,
although I never managed a sunset anything like that one. I like the
short commentary on the photos.
Last time I was in the Macc Forest I even saw a badger…in daylight, and
it didn’t immediately run off !!!
I must practice more with the uni, and become good enough to ride some of
this scenery and not just look at it from the pub windows.
