Basketball (UK)

Is anyone interested in playing basketball, or is there anyone in the UK who
already plays?

I was talking to someone at the Tunbridge Wells Juggling Festival who is
involved in wheelchair basketball, and would like to organise a match
between a wheelchair team and a unicycle team.

We do occasionally have a game at the Kidderminster unimeets - very
low standard though. In general the UK don’t have a high standard
for uni-basketball - after many attempts in previous years, we
scored our first ever points at a Unicon this year. Actually, a
young American lad we’d borrowed did the ball through hoop thing

  • we just supplied the relevant pass.

The best UK team at Eurocycle Plymouth were probably the lads
from the local school - given the nature of school groups, I
doubt they are still playing together these days.

With my now finely tuned unicycle hockey skills maybe I could turn my hand to basketball…or not

Hadn’t played before the C&G unicycle convention and haven’t played since but I’ll give it a go.

I can bore you with the story about scoring a three pointer with only seconds left on the clock to win the final. Fluke!.. you take that back.
