A single mother lives alone with her two grown daughters.
The mother dies.
At the funeral, the younger daughter meets the man of her dreams…he’s attractive, charming, funny, everything.
However, since it’s her mother’s funeral, she doesn’t pursue him or anything.
After the funeral, she asks everyone who the man was, trying to get some sort of contact information. No one knows anything about the man, so eventually, she gives up.
Three weeks later she kills her sister. Why?
The “story” (I doubt it’s true) behind this riddle, is that, when asked to a group of serial killers, 90% got it right, but when asked to a group of normal people, only 10% got it right.
By putting this bit in, you gave a massive clue! D’oh!
On a pedantic point, it was psychopaths, not serial killers.
A psychopath lacks empathy, and therefore treats other people as objects to be moved or manipulated at will to achieve the psychopath’s objectives.
Not all psychopaths are serial killers. Some are very successful members of society, often very rich or high status.
I believe I know two “successful psychopaths”, but that’s based on my observations of their behaviour, rather than any knowledge of their medical/psychiatric history. Dealing with these two individuals is a very disturbing experience. They can appear perfectly sincere and reasonable, then walk away from the conversation and immediately do exactly the opposite of what they agreed, without any signs of embarrassment if they are later “caught” and challenged.
Whether all seial killers are psychopaths, I don’t know. I suspect they are.
He works at the funeral parlour or whatever. No family would no his name that way, and if there is another funeral (the sisters) they go back to see him again.
first off, your not supposed to tell them the part about the 90% and 10%. that kinda gives it away if you think about it.
the answer is because if he was at her mothers funeral, he must somehow know the family and then she reasons that he would show up at the sisters funeral also thus, she would get to see him again
