ok i finally got around to putting my new aDDict regeant frameset* onto my uni and to my horror, the spokes were rubbing against the frame, just above the bearing holders on the frame. this was then followed by an hour of filing and fitting. i have just got it right.
Just a warning to other unicyclists who are gonna fit a nimbus hub with aDDict frames.
Other than that, my uni feels SO light now! props to aDDict/impact unicycles for making a awesome frame!
Take the bearing spacers off and flip them around, this will bend the frame just a very tiny bit to make it fit better. I had to do this on my Triton frame.
I hate it when that happens. I had a similar problem when I went to put my UDC based 36" wheel into a the aluminum Coker frame last year. Spokes hit the frame. I ended up buying a new wheel and spending more than a new complete Coker .
(This year I rebuilt that 36" UDC based wheel onto a ISIS hub and put into a new KH aluminum frame. Again it cost more than a complete Coker :(, but what a beauty.)
Unless I’m missing something the answer should be “yes.”
If the problem is the spokes rubbing the impact frame it means that the flanges are just a little wider at the spokes on the KH hub than the impact hub. It should be no problem putting the hub with narrower flanges onto a frame made for wider ones as long as the bearing size/spacing is the same.
For instance: I have a Coker wheel with the Coker hub in a Nimbus Nightrider frame. You can’t just put a Nimbus wheel into a Coker frame for the same reason the Nimbus hub doesn’t work in the Impact frame.
As far as i know it will fit. There will be no problem wit hspokes hitting the frame and so on.
Both (frame and hub) are 100mm bearing spacing and 42mm bearings. So it will fit.
