A Tribute to the Great Bill Hicks in Los Angeles
February 26th will mark the 10 year anniversary of the untimely passing of Bill Hicks, stand-up comedian supreme and unparalleled scathing social commentarian. Bill set the bar for what is possible in communicating via the stand-up medium.
It will be a low key evening (being a school night and all), in which a short presentation will be given, followed by a short documentary of Bill’s life called “It’s Just A Ride” (which is excellent), and some video of his stand up acts. If you’re a Bill admirer you will want to be here. If you don’t know Bill’s material and the basis of his life, you should definitely come down and check it out. Either way you will be supporting two exceptional causes: the Bill Hicks Foundation for Wildlife and the L.A. Burning Man Community.
Many such Hicks tributes will be happening all over the world on this same evening. Bill still talks to us, even 10 years after his passing. He created quite a ripple… and no one since has been able to fill his huge shoes.
A small donation of $5.00 is suggested, more if you can afford it, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
