I have the Night Rider Pro, which I bought around 9 years ago. I was wondering if those other 2 uni’s are any different. Specifically I always think my 36" is very heavy, but I’ve never had any of the others in my hands so I wouldn’t know. I figured if the 36" would feel like the 32", it would be easier to mount and handle. Of course it is still high up to get on top, but it just feels sluggish.
If the Nightfox and Oracle are very similar, then there is no point of getting those. I wouldn’t buy the KH because those are always overpriced, especially for my abilities.
I think the Oracle is meant to be lightweight, and the Nightfox is for short people. I have never heard of the Night Rider Pro, so they might not be sold anymore. If you have a good 36", I don’t see the point of a new one.
Well as far as I know all current qu-ax, kh and nimbus 36” unicycles share the same rim and tires (King George and Niterider is same tire with different thread) so I believe they will likely feel equally “heavy” as it’s the rim/tube/tire weight that matters and not a few hundred grams of non-moving frame/seat/brake weight.
Only mad4one is selling a pre-built beast with carbon rim and a different tire (Vee T-Monster).
@Setonix I believe you mentioned somewhere that you were moving to Denmark (near Aarhus) but if you happen to come by near Copenhagen some day feel free to drop me a PM if you want try a carbon 36”.
Hi Hammer, I lived in DK from 2008 to 2016 and work(ed) for Vestas Wind Systems. Because Vestas is an international company they also have an office in NL where Im from and so when I moved back to NL, I could start in the same function from the Dutch office. A few times a year I go back to DK for about a week. Next time will be on the April 27th.
My team is located in Aarhus unfortunately. For now we haven’t planned any meetings in CPH. But who knows maybe in the future. In any case I will need to spend some serious time on riding the 36" again.
This week I found a spot at the skate park, I can just hold on to and then push off to ride around, but because the wheel is so big, the skatepark becomes too small. There is a long bike path I can ride, but before that I need to practice free-mounting it again, because I don’t want to walk back a few kms after dismounting.
If the difference isn’t so much between the diff 36" types, I’ve also decided for myself, I still need a 24" muni and a 27.5" muni. I just know that my wife will not be impressed and because she doesn’t ride, she will think it is a waste of money.
