32" Maxxis Aspen - is it what 32" unicycles need to become mainstream?

If these tires become mainstream, I’ll include 32" tubes in the next production run, just like I did with 36". That will take about another year, though; my inventory is still well-stocked with TPU tubes.

Did you mean 32" tubes? :face_with_monocle:

If they become mainstream I’d expect to see plenty of Butyl tube choice as well though (as plenty of people don’t run tubeless), and with how light they are these days I’m really not sure there’ll be that much benefit of going TPU.

ehm yes  sorry i mean tpu tubes

Too late, you’re now a tyre manufacturer

I’d like a 32” Schwalbe G-One All-round in 2.4” please.

No problem, I have my own “brand”: HOLY MOLY (fantasy name for a no-name tire)

Not to be confused with Holy Roller, although I’d take a 32” holy roller too!

2.4 is too wide! 2.0 would be perfect for a G-One Speed, please

Aren’t available rims too wide for a 2” tire?

I’ll take a 2.4 G-One too! Swiss made even better!

They aren’t too wide: they are perfect
My 29er rim is 32mm internal and accepts a G-One Speed 2". That’s perfect! So, 2 mm less should be even better.

My BC wheel has a rim which is wider than the tyre

i prefer a 32x3.0 Rocket Ron

We’ll need a new rim, then. As far as I know, no 32" rim is large enough for such a wide tire

Other spare parts companies have a lot of work ahead of them to make everything fit wheels of this size. Waiting it

Is there any disc-ready 32" frame out there with a 100mm bearing pitch? I think the Mad4one Muni L would be just too small.
My long term aim is to upgrade the unicycle that contains my 400 series Schlumpf hub (currently a g26 with Magura rim brakes) to have a bigger wheel and disc brake (I already have a Brakefast 1 adaptor and Shimano 203mm disc). I was assuming I would next be getting 29" wheel and frame, but this tyre has got me wondering about the feasibility of a g32. How different would a g32 be to a g29? I suspect not as versatile for varied surfaces - although I only really ride trails and not ‘proper’ muni.
A g36 is not for me - the geared up speeds are faster than I would want to go, and the height of the inevitable falls is more than I want to risk. (But then I suppose the same might be said of a g32, am I just kidding myself that it would be more manageable? …)

I think your best option right now if you’re not going custom (Tritao/Flansberrium) is a 36” frame. With a brake-fast you could use any disk 36” frame out there aside from the older KH frames.

It doesn’t look all that odd

I’m not sure about this. I have seen a #400 series hub causing issues in a 29er RGB frame. If I recall correctly, the Spirit cranks hit the frame. Also, I know there have been issues with the Mad4One 36er frames and BrakeFasts, but I think they have been fixed (?).
2023 KH and 100mm Oracle are probably the best frames if you want to be sure this’ll work.

I hadn’t realised there was a 100mm Oracle 36" frame - and especially with the Brakefast in mind. Now if only there was a 100mm Oracle 32" as well… but that would be a very niche product

@rogeratunicycledotcom Any plan on the 32er frame with 100mm bearing width?

There’s nothing wrong putting a 32 in a 36 frame. It looks absolutely fine and the extra crown gap makes for a great carry handle.
