At age 57 (and a half) I bought a Nimbus UW 24 (24" Ultimate Wheel). That was in the summer 2016. I could not get on top of it, so I soon parked it in the shed and left it there until summer 2017. In the autumn, I could —on a lucky day — cycle maybe 300 meters before I was grounded. The year after, on August 5th 2018, a few months short of 60 years old, I bought a KH 29 and climbed up on top of it determined to learn to ride it before I turned 60. In the end of that same day I managed to cycle 10 meters. I then knew I was going to love unicycling. My first 1 km was in July 2020.
