youtube question

I keep getting the same email telling me that someone (same person each time) has “posted a bulletin to my profile”, and that I can view it by going to my profile. But each and every time I check, there’s NOTHING there; at least no “bulletin” as mentioned that I can find. Does anyone know what this may be? Thanks! Below is the actual email message:

Hi ttt8699,

Sounds like spam. They may be trying to capture your logon information, though not sure what they can do with someone else’s YouTube account. I would add the sender to your spam filter or whatever.

I don’t post videos to Youtube so I don’t know how their system works. But could it be a case of someone posting spam comments to one of your videos and the comments are getting automatically deleted by Youtube before you can see them?

In any event, never click on a link in an email like that. It’s too easy to disguise a link to make it go somewhere where you don’t expect. From there they can do phishing or send you to a malicious site with a browser exploit. Type in the link manually to go to Youtube, PayPal, eBay, your bank, or wherever. Never directly follow a link in an email like that.
