Well, it’s a little far for you to travel, but I’d start here. Tom J makes a mean one, as we get to experience every year (but this one) at our annual Ride 'N Feed party.
And as long as we’re tiramisuing and it’s last meal, I think I’d add a double espresso with a side shot of Kaluah to go with it.
funnily enough a few days ago a friend linked me to a list of every last meal given in texas last year. It was almost entirely burgers, steak and mexican food, except one guy who asked for “peace, freedom and justice”. His request was denied.
But to asnwer the question, I believe if it were my last day on earth I’d be too busy to eat.
Salad: All types of greens, everything, but mostly iceberg lettuce. With croutons and hidden valley ranch dressing.
Steak: Not just any steak, i mean some of the best in the world. Tender, juicy, full of flavor. Maybe a good london broil.
Mashed potatoes: plenty of butter, and some cheese. Whipped until all the lumps are gone.
Bread: fresh bread, still warm from the oven.
Cooked apples: fresh macintosh apples, cooked with butter, sugar and some cinnamon.
Dessert: fresh warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
dishes and dishes of tapioca pudding, butterscotch pudding, chocolate pudding, vanilla pudding, rice pudding, custard pudding and a really good blunt as well.
I give that one my gold medal for best response so far. The question implies aliens are coming and they’re going to take all of us. That would mean the restaurants would either be closed, or they’d be unmanned and you would have to cook yourself. Assuming less panic in the world, I’d probably go for sushi. But I don’t know that I’d be thinking about food at a time like that. People who sit down for a meal don’t usually do as well in end-of-the-world stories, while the ones who fight to survive usually do better. If not anything else, at least they make the story more interesting…
I’ve noticed that several people have answered this question by saying they’d like to try something new…I really don’t see the point in that. If it’s going to be my last meal on earth, I wouldn’t want to experiment and expand my culinary horizon, I’d want to eat food that I know I’ll love that will comfort me and satisfy me.
