You May Be a Fundamentalist Christian If....

You might be. better check:

  1. you agree with kirk cameron that bananas are undeniable proof of god’s existance

  2. you say things like "thank god for 9/11 and protest at soldiers’ funerals

  3. you believe that mastubation, of all things, will be the downfall of all western civilization

  4. you think youre so different from atheists, even though youre atheist to all gods but one. we just go one god further

  5. when you ask a scientist or atheist to explain their version of the beginning of the universe, you repeatedly say “well where did that come from?”

  6. you believe that organisms like humans and whales cannot possibly evolve over millions of years, but that super-complex organisms like god can simply poof into existance.

  7. you believe that the sun is the center of the solar system, even though christians once excommunicated and harrassed people like copernicus and galileo

  8. you deny evolution, but fail to provide another alternative theory

(PS: i do not mean to offend anyone, and i regret it if i did. this is just in response to the fundamentalist atheist thread, and to start meaningful discussion)

wow…i’m glad you included the disclaimer at the end…i was practically up in arms, then i was “ok, he just wants to start a conversation…no biggy”

youre welcome
i know you appreciated it
you might have done something irrational otherwise

lol…possibly, but anyway…the protesters at funerals…that burns me. I think 9-11 was a horrible horrible thing…so that offends me when people are psycho. I think it is important to, as a christian, not destroy one’s testimony by being deranged.

Okay, first of all, “god hates fags” website is made by a bunch of lunatics, wether they are “christians” or not.

Any person on earth who ‘thanks god for 9/11’ is either lying, or stupid. Christians as a majority support the military, to say the least.

I can’t tell what the heck you were trying to say with that.

Anyone else find this quote on their front page ironic

Most Americans – christians or otherwise – DO NOT support the war in Iraq. That’s why the Republicans will lose the midterm elections.

And a small point: No True Christian (ie., follower of Jesus’ word) could support the military.

Sorry Alex…the other one was way funnier…it had basis in truth.

Please don’t use the term “true christian”. It’s been an eyeroller for ages. The conditions to be “christian” are not difficult to meet. All those people are “true christians”. You will not agree with a lot of them, and in fact, many of them will be downright horrid; nobody denies that there are people out there who are “christian” who are pretty nasty pieces of work and really don’t have their ‘love one another’ bits down very well.

They nonetheless are truely christian; you can’t just cut ties and divorce yourself from them, because really, all you’re saying then is that “-I- think this, and i’m going to blatantly try to redefine the phrase in front of you to mean ‘Me and people who I agree with’ while still keeping the feel-good label”. Know that while you’re trying to define them out, they are talking about how -you- are not a “true christian” because you don’t agree with -them-. It’s stupid, pointless, and doesn’t say anything, and anyone who you would want to address with the term sees through it like a clean plate glass window.

Feel free to object to them and complain that they’re clueless and nasty, but they’re still “christian”. You are not expected to agree with and support everything done by people who are “christian”.

I don’t think Osama Bin-Laden is lying or stupid. He’s not Christian, of course, but neither is the majority of the world’s population. In general, I don’t think either side of any war should claim to have God on their side, that might keep things more “honest.”

No, I suppose they’d rather carry protest signs while the Huns walk over their lands and move into their homes. The primary purpose of a military is for defense. Sometimes you have to have a war to keep the peace. Yes you have to. If WWII had started a little earlier, it probably wouldn’t have gotten nearly as out of hand.

What about the people who planned, coordinated and carried out the attacks? Are you suggesting they were all of substandard intelligence?
