Yet another spiffing addition to the forum! Thanks Gilby!

If you haven’t tried it already, have a look at the new unicyclist map of the world that Gilby has attached to the forum.

A link is in the news section of the forum. It’s a great addition and well worth a look, not to mention plotting yourself on the map.

Cheers, Gilby!

Great, thanks Gilby! This is really interesting. I’ve been wondering where in America most unicyclists are.

This new ‘can’t post a quick reply unless you click on a quick reply button beside a post’ thing is interesting. What’s it’s purpose?

Andrew

Gilby explained it more detail [THREAD=21964]on this page [/THREAD]of MR.

It’d be awesome if it graphically showed who was browsing the forums too. It’s be neat for me to see who else is up at 4am in the world when I am.

they have that seagel. tis a list of everyone thats viewing and what thread theyre viewing. o and i havent seen this map thing yet.

what I would like is the icon on the map to change color depending on wether they are on or offline.

That would be fun… the ability to see, at a glance, the crazy obsessive people reading the forum at stupid o’clock in the morning when they really should be asleep…

Phil

Awesome idea. If anyone has any more ideas, let me know.

Gilby,

I assume the yellow pin indicates whose turn it is to invite everyone over for dinner.

Bruce

Sure is. What time works for everyone else? Best to plan with the TCUC schedule in mind so you all can come and unicycle with the 374 members of the Twin Cities Unicycle Club: http://www.tcuc.org/members/calendar/Calendar-full.htm

It’s a ways off, but the Mondo event is a good time to come here. I still got floor space (and possibly even an extra bed) if people need a place to sleep.

You’re all welcome to come over anytime.

Oh, and the yellow pin is on the nearest major intersection of where I live. I recommend that any children (those under 18, or whatever the legal age their in their respective country), as well as those that don’t want to give out exact locations on a public webpage, do the same or put their pin in the middle of their town.

This may go against your idea of not-modifying-the-code-while-it’s-still-in-development, but it is possible to restrict how far it lets you zoom in; if you stop it going above, say, the 6th notch it is accurate enough to know who is in the area but not to find exactly where they live.

Phil

Last time I checked, that’s 11,138 forum members you’ve just invited…

Sounds like a sure-fire entry in the Guinness Book of Records to me. Who’s up for it?
