XC ski

Hey does anyone else XC ski on these forums? silly question, of corse someone else does, but the question is who?

I went for my first ski of the year on wednesday with a couple of friends and am still slightly sore. We went out to Little Red around 7:00 and skied on the set trails. We started on the lit trails but soon decided that we wanted to hit up the less used trails further in the bush. It was really nice, there was nobody else on the trails (probably because it was dark out, and the temperature was -20 and dropping) and the sky was perfectly clear so we could just barely make out the trail by only starlight. I have no idea how far we went but we got back to my truck around 10:00 an hour before they lock the gates for the night.

I think I am going to make it a habit to go skiing at least once a week again. It could be good cross training for unicycling. Skiing is such a relaxing sport, especially when there is nobody else on the trails or when blazing your own up north. The only thing is that this year I do not live next to any of the ski trails that go through the city.

I’m on my high school ski team, so I’m out just about every day. I agree, it is very relaxing, it definately clears your mind. Most of the time at practice I’m training rather than touring. Anyone else race?

Skiing and unicycling are great for each other. Skiing is great for the core, wich is great for unicycling. The balance from unicycling also really helps your glide on skis.

That sounds like a nice set of trails you’ve got. We don’t have anything lit around here, but I’ve always wanted to do a night ski.

bode miller unicycles to cross train for skiing.
i think…
